This Colosseum tour is a special visit, totally dedicated to this world icon of Rome, the building famous under the motto “bread and fun”, the big Flavian amphitheatre which, changed its name into Colosseum.
The sentence on the top is what Marziale, a spectator of 2000 years ago, wrote about the shows seen in the Colosseum.
We start with a walk around the building to admire it stateliness from any points of view. I’ll explain you the history of the building, the constructive and destructive phases. We won’t miss to give a look at the nearby ruins of the Gladiator School too.
After that, we will go inside thanks to the booked admission tickets. During this second part, we will visit both the ground floor, the arena, and the first ring. We will see the wooden models, and reconstructions of the building, to help your imagination. Then, we will move to the inner gallery. There, you’ll be listening to my stories about the Gladiators who met their death there, their stories, their legends, the true and false about their games and fights. And finally the best viewpoint for a memorable photos inside the Colosseum.
Do not be fooled by the naval battle, its ships and the waves equaling the sea: here there was land just now. Don’t you believe it? Watch how waters are tired by Mars and soon, you will be able to exclaim “But here, there was the sea, before“.
To skip the line at the entrance of the Colosseum, you have to purchase your own entrance tickets on line. The tickets are the 24H tickets for the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine hill at a price of 16€. To book them, you find all the instructions and the official website link in the dedicated page.
This Colosseum tour lasts 2 hours. It is a walking tour, so remember to wear comfortable shoes. We are not going to walk a lot, but stand for the most of time. 1 stops for resting during this short tour, and 1 stop for toilets are planned during the tour. We don’t visit any holy place, so feel free to wear what is more comfortable for you. Take a hat and a bottle of water with you in summertime. We’ll refill them at the public fountain inside the building, like ancient romans did!
The ticket will also allow you to enter the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill, a visit that you can do on your own at the end of our 2 hours together. If you also want to visit them with me, choose the 3-hours formula, called Ancient Rome.

Assolutamente consigliata.
