My Rome

A weekend in Rome

Je retrouve ma ville et je reste bouche bée. J’avais oublié sa beauté lascive, brunie par le soleil. Rome, ville superbe où les hommes se déplacent avec la suavité des chats.

Don’t miss anything out of the essential!

If you only have 1 or 2 days to visit Rome, if you are getting off a cruise ship, if you are stopping over in Rome, this 1 day in Rome walking tour is for you. Visiting Rome by your own, you may wander around and pass by famous but hidden highlights. Better is to trust your time to a tour guide, a local person to experience Rome in total, its iconic monuments, its food and lifestyle without any waste of time.

For this full-day tour in fact, I’m setting up, for the same day, two of my most popular walking tours. We start in the morning with the 3 hours walking tour called Highlights of Rome. We make a break at 12:00 for a well-deserved meal into a typical place of Rome (food is not included). After that, we continue the visit with 3 more hours in the Vatican. To join the Vatican, we have 2 options: we take a taxi (around 15€ not included) or, more funny and cheap, we take the roman subway!!!

This full-day tour will finish at around 4 pm when you may have time for shopping into the close and nice shopping area. 7 hours in total to discover Rome, its iconic monuments, its food, its lifestyle with a local guide. This is going to be a totally walking tour. Some stops are planned, of course! 2 stops to rest and one for toilet both in the morning and in the afternoon, a part lunch break.

If you need more comfort, you can choose the formula by private car called Rome in one day.

One day in Rome: detailed program

This is a walking tour, the formula that make you experience the feeling of the city and lifestyle more than any others. We start in the morning by the Colosseum with a visit inside. With our booked entrance tickets, we skip the line and get in for a visit at the ground floor and the 1st ring level. After that, we continue with the Imperial Forum, and climb up to the Capitol hill. From there, we’ll admire the impressive view of the Roman Forum, lying down below us. We continue then with the Trevi Fountain and finish with the Spanish square and the Spanish steps.

For your lunch break, you can choose one of my favourite places you can find into my Google Map. This will be for me the perfect opportunity to share with you my precious and personal list of good places where to eat in Rome! You may choose a gourmet or relaxing or gastronomic break depending on your wish. You may taste a flavourful ice cream, or a thin and crispy roman pizza served in an iron dish or also a dish of pasta in a typical roman Trattoria!

The afternoon program is totally dedicated to the Vatican with the Museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.

This 1 day in Rome is a walking tour, so remember to wear comfortable shoes and a “decent dress code”. We are going to walk for 3,3 km/2,5 ml, stand for the most of time and visit holy places. Take a bottle of water with you. We may refill them at the public fountains along the tour and, at the end, at the fountain by St Peter’s Basilica, giving Holy Water!

Have been in Rome for 3 days and have done the colosseum, palatine hill and forum tour with my wheelchair and just finished with the Vatican tour – both are in fact, possible with reduced mobility. So happy to have chosen you. fantastic, 5 stars, Best Tour guide in Rome.
